Teeth whitening products are in high demand today

These products are easy to come by and can be found in almost any grocery store or dentist office. There are various types of teeth whitening products so all customers can have the form of the product which they prefer.

Teeth whitening toothpastes can be purchased at any grocery retail store. The toothpastes have mild abrasives and can remove surface stains on teeth. Some toothpaste has additional polishing additives in the toothpaste which can increase the effectiveness of stain removal. Toothpaste can only remove the stains to a certain point which is usually one shade lighter. Another available teeth whitening product is found in over the counter whitening strips and gels. Whitening strips are very thin and coated with a peroxide based whitening gel. Whitening gels are another peroxide based product which is applied with a small brush onto a persons teeth. Both of these over the counter teeth whitening agents are applied twice a day. Results can be seen in around 14 days.

Mouthwashes with hydrogen peroxide are available as another teeth whitening product. This product is used just like other mouthwashes and swished in the mouth twice a day prior to brushing ones teeth. Since the mouthwash is swished in ones mouth for about 60 seconds twice a day, it can take almost 12 weeks to see any results.

Other teeth whitening products include whitening trays similar to a mouth guard piece. These trays are filled with a peroxide bleaching agent and worn for a few hours a day. These trays can be found in either a grocery store or a dentist office. In a dentist office, one can receive a gel for the tray which has a higher peroxide bleach base than purchasing one over the counter.

The other type of teeth whitening product can be found in a dentists office. A dentist can provide in office teeth bleaching treatments. The dentist will place a bleaching agent directly on the patients teeth. A light, heat, or laser is then applied to activate the bleaching agent. Results are seen after the first treatment, but will increase with additional treatments.
